Josephine Kim, Violin
Bio
Josephine Kim has served as a section violin substitute with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Princeton Symphony, and Symphony in C Orchestra. Other engagements include performing and touring with the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival Orchestra in 2023 and performing with Jupiter Chamber Players in New York.
After being a part of the Chamber Music Institute at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, her piano quartet has performed on the Sunday’s Live Program broadcasted on the KUSC Radio. Josephine has competed as a semi-finalist in the Coltman Chamber Music Competition and serves as an artist-in-residence at Arcadia University. She is also a member of illume Duo, a violin and marimba group based in New Haven, CT.
Josephine’s accomplishments include placing first in the LA regionals ASTA competition, LANSUM International Festival Competition, and the John C. Walker Music competition.
Josephine is currently pursuing her Masters in violin performance from the Yale School of Music, where she studies with Professor Soovin Kim.
